Depending on the room temperature, please preheat it for at least 1.5 hours before each use. The wax will begin to flow as it heats. Make sure the room temperature is above 68°F (20°C) and avoid placing the lamp near cold air drafts. Does the liquid motion lamp need to be preheated every time? How long does it need to warm up? The liquid motion lamp needs to be warmed up before each use. Depending on the room temperature, it may take 1.5 hours or more to warm up each time. To prolong its life, do not use it for more than 8 hours at a time. Why does smoke come out when plugged in? Yes, light smoke or odor can happen during first use. It’s usually due to: 1. Residue on the bulb (like dust) burning off — wipe it clean before use. 2. New parts heating up for the first time — harmless and fades after a few uses. The liquid looks cloudy. Is that normal? Yes, it can be. Slight cloudiness may occur due to temperature changes or shaking during shipping. After a few uses, the liquid should clear up. If not, please get in touch with us for help. The wax has turned into many small bubbles. It doesn’t look like the pictures. This can happen due to overheating or shaking during transport. Turn off the lamp, let it cool completely, and restart after a few hours. Avoid running the lamp for more than 8 hours at a time.
